The Colorado Grand currently generates well over $700,000 annually for small Colorado charities and Western Slope towns as well as college scholarships to graduating high-school seniors in those towns. Current charities include the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation, Flight for Life, CASA, and medical facilities in small towns.

Every September at the peak of the fall color season approximately 85 vintage cars are driven in this relaxed, non-competitive event, covering 1,000 miles through the Rockies in five days.

The tour attracts entrants from around the world and alwyas includes several 1920’s and 1930’s cars.Typical makes include Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Aston Martin,Jaguar, Maserati, Allard, and such exotic names as Amilcar, Cisitalia, Squire, Delahaye, and Tallbot-Lago.

The event is run with cooperation of the Colorado State Patrol.

Major sponsors include Mercedes-Benz USA, Hagerty Insurance, WeatherTech, RM Sotheby’s, Premier Financial Services, and Blue Chip Fleet. It will take place from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Main Street.

If you have played before, you know this is a lot of fun! If you haven’t played before, welcome to a whole new game of golf on the most level golf course in the world - a frozen lake.

The entry fee is $150 for the teams of three. This event is sponsored by the Jackson County Lions Club, and all the proceeds will go to charitable causes, such as assistance for eye care, scholarships, and Lions Park.

First place prize for the tournament will be a plaque (that you can use to show your friends you actually did this) and $500. Second place, third place and fourth place may also be in the money, depending on the turnout. One year, we paid down to ninth place. On the Friday night preceding the event, there will be a Calcutta where we will auction off teams. If you don’t have a very good team, you can bet on a better one and win up to $500.

This event will start at 7 p.m. at the River Rock Cafe.

There will be an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Stockman Bar.

There are new rules regarding registration this year so listen up:

All entries have to be received - by mail or email by 5 p.m., January 26th. There will be no entries accepted the day of the tournament, or the night before.

You will not be registered until payment has been received.

The Town of Walden is working on both remediation of existing digital content assuring that new content meets the ADA standards. Our compliance plan aims to specify current issues and seek remediation. A checklist has been created to facilitate this process.

This is an evolving document which will allow website visitors to see the action steps being taken as well as track the progress. Due to funding and staffing limitations, remediating all digital content before the July 2024 deadline would cause an undue burden to the Town of Walden.

On September 7th the Home Arts show will be opened the same time as the 6th, of September. Starting at 10:00am the 4-H/FFA Beef Show, then 4-H/FFA Round Robin again at 1:00pm. Please stay around for the BBQ that begins at 5:00pm. Looking to buy some of the show animals that were shown? Stick around for the Junior Livestock Sale. So come and join us up at the fairgrounds for the North Park Fair.

There will be pancakes, eggs, hash browns, sausages, and beverages. Don’t hesitate to come support the local fire department there is no charge it is a free event.

Frozen pipes can burst, causing significant water damage and costly repairs. One commonly recommended precaution is to let your faucets drip slightly during periods of extreme cold.
